One of the most popular beach side activities on The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel is the collection of seashells. Shelling aficionados come from all over the world to comb the beaches for their favorites, and it’s not hard to see how this pastime can turn into an obsession.
Wonderful shore birds
Fort Myers Beach -south end and Sanibel Island are world renown for "bird watching" Lew and I just got some great pictures of the Rosettes on the south end of Fort Myers Beach- south of the Holiday Inn where they nest each evening in their own lagoon. Several species are year around, others migrate there, nest and have their young- you will see those areas blocked off for protection along with the sea turtles thru November.
